Help Protect the Torrs as a Town Green

The best way to protect the picnic area of the Torrs from unwanted and unnecessary development is by getting it declared a Town Green. 

You can help if you are able to give a simple written statement that you have used this area over the past 20 years.

The area appropriate for a Town Green application is shown in the map below. Once the status is awarded it will be protected from being built on and developed.

The process of gaining Town Green status merely requires local people to give written evidence that they have used the area over a period going back 20 years for various pastimes and recreations, such as walking, picnicking, photography, fishing, etc.
